PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has recorded seven new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases recorded to date to 36.
This was informed by health authorities to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who was given a briefing on the status of Covid-19 in the country.
The Prime Minister was briefed on measures taken since Covid-19 was detected in Malaysia, including efforts to bring home Malaysian citizens from Wuhan, China.
“The Prime Minister was satisfied with measures taken by government agencies to manage the spreading of Covid-19, and recorded his appreciation to those involved, particularly front liners and medical staff.
The Prime Minister also directed the special task force to continue monitoring the Covid-19 situation and take more steps to prevent the outbreak, ” said the Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday (March 3).
The PMO also said that the Prime Minister has advised the public not to panic, abstain from panic buying and put into practice the measures that have been outlined by the Health Ministry.
Muhyiddin also advised those who visit countries such as China, South Korea, Japan and Italy to adhere to travel and health advisory issued by authorities.
